Deputy Minister of Agriculture

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono has firmly denied allegations that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) intends to profit from the single-door export policy for crude palm oil (CPO). “I repeat, they are not seeking profit,” Sudaryono stated, as reported by Antara on Friday, May 29, 2026.

The government’s new integrated policy mandates that exports of coal, palm oil, and ferroalloys be managed through PT DSI. Sudaryono emphasized that the government has coordinated extensively with various stakeholders, including DSI, to ensure that the export management process remains both transparent and accountable.

Under this new framework, PT DSI will function as a supervisor and manager of national strategic commodity exports, aiming to establish a more orderly and regulated trading mechanism. Sudaryono expressed his hope that this clarity will alleviate concerns among downstream palm oil industry players, particularly refinery companies and active exporters.

To ensure a smooth transition, the government has set a three-month adjustment period starting from June 1, 2026, through August 31, 2026. During this phase, the government will establish the necessary regulatory stages to gradually shift the management of palm oil exports into the system overseen by PT DSI.

Looking ahead, the government aims to have full, integrated management of palm oil, coal, and metal commodity exports through PT DSI by January 1, 2027. In its initial operations, DSI will adopt an agent-based business model, acting as an intermediary before expanding its functions as its organizational capacity and human resources develop.

The implementation by PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia will occur in two distinct phases. During the first phase, from June 1 to December 31, 2026, DSI will primarily act as an evaluator and intermediary between buyers and sellers of specified export commodities. By the second phase, beginning in January 2027, the company will transition to purchasing commodities directly from domestic exporters to sell them in the international market.

Summary

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono has dismissed allegations that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) seeks profit from the new single-door export policy for commodities like coal and palm oil. He emphasized that the government has coordinated with stakeholders to ensure the process remains transparent, with DSI serving as a supervisor to regulate national strategic commodity exports more effectively.

The government has implemented a three-month transition period starting June 1, 2026, to shift management into DSI’s oversight. The policy will be executed in two phases, with DSI initially acting as an intermediary evaluator before transitioning to direct purchasing and international sales by January 1, 2027.
