PT Pupuk Indonesia has successfully distributed 737,125 tons of subsidized fertilizer across the island of Sumatra as of April 30, 2026. This achievement accounts for 33 percent of the total 2,228,539 tons allocated for the Sumatra region this year.
Eko Suroso, the Regional Chief Executive Officer 1 of Pupuk Indonesia, noted that the high realization of fertilizer distribution is driven by several strategic government policies. Key factors include the streamlined redemption process facilitated by the i-Pubers application and the reduction in the Maximum Retail Price (HET), which has been in effect since October 2025.
“The government has significantly simplified the redemption process through the i-Pubers app and the HET reduction policy,” Eko stated in Palembang on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
According to Eko, the i-Pubers application serves as a digital ledger for subsidized fertilizer redemptions at official kiosks. The system integrates farmer data, fertilizer allocations, and current stock levels into a single, unified platform. This digital transformation ensures that the distribution process remains transparent and highly efficient.
“This application not only makes it easier for farmers to redeem their fertilizer but also allows for closer monitoring of distribution. Our goal is to ensure that the aid is accurately targeted while minimizing the risk of any irregularities in the field,” he explained.
To further strengthen the transparency and accountability of the distribution system, Pupuk Indonesia’s Regional 1 Sales Compartment is actively collaborating with key stakeholders. This includes members of the media, distribution business partners, and local government agencies.
Eko emphasized that these collaborative efforts are part of the company’s strategic commitment to ensuring that all information regarding subsidized fertilizer policies and distribution is communicated openly and accurately to the public.
“Transparency is our core commitment. The media plays a strategic role in ensuring that the information received by the community—especially farmers—is not only delivered quickly but is also accurate and balanced,” Eko added.
Yoyo Supriyanto, Senior Manager of Sales Support for Regional 1 at Pupuk Indonesia, highlighted that the success of the distribution program is also bolstered by reinforced oversight and tight coordination with distributors.
The distribution process adheres strictly to the “Seven Right” principles: right time, right amount, right place, right price, right type, right quality, and right recipient. PT Pupuk Indonesia aims to position itself not merely as a distributor but as a strategic partner in safeguarding national food security through transparent and accountable fertilizer management.
A representative from the South Sumatra Provincial Agriculture Office also underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration. Such synergy is essential for maintaining the stability of agricultural production, which is heavily dependent on the consistent and reliable availability of fertilizer.
